If the idea of having the support and reassurance of two doulas feels comforting to you, shared care support might be a lovely option. Kerry from BareFacedBirth and I work together to offer families continuity, experience, and two complementary styles of doula support throughout pregnancy, birth, and the early postnatal period.

If your labour is particularly long, we are often able to swap over once we reach our agreed time limit (usually around 12 hours). This means you are more likely to have continuous doula support throughout active labour, birth, and those first hours after your baby arrives.
Shared care also offers an extra layer of reassurance if one of us were to experience unexpected illness or a family emergency, as the other doula should still be available to attend your birth.
It can be an especially lovely option for families who don’t have a birth partner present, or who simply feel comforted by having a wider support team around them during birth.
Between us, you benefit from two sets of skills, perspectives, and experience, as well as four calm hands to hold space, offer reassurance, help you navigate information and decisions, and support both you and your birth partner throughout the journey. We’re also able to support one another behind the scenes, which helps us arrive feeling grounded, rested, and fully present for the families we care for.

If you think the shared care approach might be right for you, get in touch and we can arrange a free, no pressure chat with both of us, to see if we might be the right doulas for you.
