Birth, Unpacked: One-to-One

Tailored around you, grounded by evidence.

Personalised antenatal education and birth preparation, tailored entirely around you, your family, and the way you want to feel during pregnancy, birth and the early days.

10 hours of individualised antenatal education, usually delivered over 4 sessions.

Sessions take place in the comfort of your home (in person if you’re local, or online if not.)

This support is for you and anyone who will be present at your birth  (this doesn’t have to be a romantic partner)

We work at a flexible pace, with each session tailored to your needs, questions, and what feels most important to you as a family

The focus is always on creating space for informed, calm, and personalised preparation for birth.

What you can expect

Is this for you?

This one-to-one support is ideal if you’d like a fully personalised approach to preparing for birth, with space to explore your individual circumstances, previous experiences, or specific questions in depth.

It could be especially helpful if you’re feeling unsure about certain aspects of your birth, have had a previous birth experience you want to process or prepare for differently, or simply prefer learning in a more tailored, nuanced way.

Together, we can explore the same core topics covered in my group course, including physiology, comfort measures, hypnobirthing tools, decision-making, interventions, and postpartum preparation,  but in a way that is shaped entirely around you and what feels most important to you and your support system.

What we explore together

Together, we can explore the topics that feel most relevant to your individual circumstances, while also taking a deep dive into all aspects of birth preparation, including:

  • Birth physiology - how birth actually works, and how to support it

  • Understanding your options - including induction, pain relief, and common interventions

  • How the maternity system works - and how to navigate it with confidence

  • Advocacy and decision-making - so you and your partner can make informed choices that feel right for you

  • Biomechanics and active birth - movements and positions to support the progress of labour

  • Hypnobirthing tools - simple, practical techniques to work with the intensity of labour

  • Birth partner support - how to feel confident, involved, and useful throughout

  • Postnatal planning - thinking about recovery, nourishment, support, and the early days with your baby

  • Navigating complex decisions and non-standard pathways - if that is relevant to you as a family

No two families are the same, and these private sessions are shaped around your questions, priorities, and what feels most important to you, creating space for deeper conversations and more personalised preparation along the way.

Grounded in real experience

Alongside my antenatal education work, I am also a practising doula, supporting families through birth at home and in hospital settings. Autonomy is always at the heart of my work, and I encourage independent thinking, alongside combining up-to-date evidence with intuition to support truly informed decision-making.

My role is never to tell anyone the “right” way to birth, but instead to share information, perspective gathered from witnessing a wide variety of birth experiences, and support as you make decisions that feel right for you.

My approach is to prepare people for the kind of birth they hope for, while also making space for the unexpected twists, turns, and forks in the road that birth can sometimes bring, helping you approach birth feeling informed, confident and ready.

Because birth is not just about what happens, but also how you feel along the way.

How it works

We usually begin with a relaxed, no-pressure initial consultation to make sure this feels like the right fit for your family and circumstances.

Sessions are then arranged throughout pregnancy, either in your home (if you are based in Nottinghamshire or Derbyshire) or online. Most families choose to divide the 10 hours across 4 sessions, though we can structure things differently if another rhythm feels more supportive for you.

You’ll also have access to my members area of birth resources, alongside ongoing virtual support throughout the duration of the course.

Questions, reflections, and new topics are always welcome as they arise, allowing my support to evolve alongside you throughout pregnancy.

FAQ's

When should I book?

You can book at any stage of pregnancy. Some families choose early preparation, while others come later when specific decisions or questions arise.

Can my birth partner join?

Yes absolutely. This course is designed to be just as valuable to them as it is for you. And if you don't have a birth partner that's completely fine too.

Is this suitable for VBAC, Caesarean or induction birth?

Yes. As this is a private course, everything is tailored to your individual circumstances. I can bring additional information and resources where helpful, and we’ll also explore all modes of birth, as birth can sometimes take unexpected turns.

Do I need to know what I want before booking?

No not at all. This course can give you the dedicated space and time to learn about your options and explore how you feel about them, so you can make informed decisions.

What happens after I enquire?

After you enquire I set up a 30 min consultation so we can meet and see if this course is the right fit for you and your family. If you decide to go ahead you can pay your deposit to secure your booking and we'll schedule in the sessions.
